Why do screens and prints look different?
Phone and computer screens emit light; photo paper reflects ambient light. Setting your screen brightness too high can therefore make prints look darker than expected.
Preparing the right files
Use files at their original resolution, avoid images reduced by messaging apps and keep important details away from the trim allowance.
Choosing paper
Glossy surfaces emphasise vivid colours, while matte surfaces reduce reflections. Choose according to the album’s intended use and photographic style.
Choose the print type for its intended use
Standard photo prints are practical for everyday and package deliveries; posters, canvas prints and framed photos make a stronger impact on walls. Panoramic albums and magazines are suitable for presenting several images as a sequential story.
With small formats such as Pola cards and square prints, make sure faces, text and important details stay within the finished image area. Consider paper finish, print size and colour profile together after choosing the product.
